Breed Critique :
Very large, strong, masculine, well coloured and pigmented male.
Masculine head with desired dark masking, dark eyes and a lively
expression. The planes of the skull and fore face are not quite correct
and the ears are set slightly close. Very good length of neck. High
withers. Firm back. Good length and lay of the croup. Slightly steep
upper arm of good length. Pronounced hind angulation. Very good fore and
underchest development. Stands and steps not quite straight in front.
Correct at rear. Both hocks and elbows should be firmer. During movement
shows a good, ground covering gait, maintaining a high wither. The
reach should be freer. Lively, confident, outgoing and gunsure at the
survey.
Faults and Virtues :
A convincingly masculine, strong, well coloured and strongly pigmented,
confident, outgoing male who could be presented in fitter condition. The
hind angulation is quite pronounced. The planes of the skull and
foreface are not quite correct and the ears are set a little close.
Breeding Advice :
A sire typical male, suitable for dry, firm females with balanced hind
angulation requiring improved colour, pigment and overall strength,
giving due consideration to the comments above.
